Can "Design-Driven Management" Change Japanese Companies?

Japan is the most advanced country in terms of industrial technology, but it has been facing fierce competition in recent years. Under such circumstances, “Design” is receiving attention as a keyword which enhances Japan's industrial competitiveness. As described in "Design-Driven Management" that was reported on May, 2018 by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Japan Patent Office, design is expected as an important resource to improve corporate value and as a driving force for innovation.
Why does “Design” get attention now? The question will be posed in this session.
