The United Nations World Tourism Organization estimates that in the year 2030,
1.8 billion people will travel internationally.
This means that tourism will have an ever-increasing impact on society and the economy.
As the estimated number of foreign tourists coming to Japan will exceed 30 million this year,
new issues, including the congregation of too many tourists in particular destinations,
and an inability to receive visitors smoothly at these locations, are arising.
We at JTB believe that new technology to help tourism function more smoothly is indispensable.
In this session, we will discuss contributions to the realization of Society 5.0,
showing concrete examples of potential partnerships between JTB and technology companies.
